Heres the deal... we have good days and we have bad days... and then we have the days we make.
Perferably we should all be focusing on the third part, focus on what we can control rather than what happens... because there are many things in life which we cannot control, such as the outcome of the markets, other peoples actions/words and all the other challenges life throws at us every single day of the year.
I've created a list of things which I must complete every evening before I shut off and go to sleep.
Now, I don't have to wrap up all of them, but at least 2 must be done every evening. - Preferably 3 but there are days in which we are more tired, busy etc.
So, without further-ado here is my list of how I end every single day.
COMPLETE ALL KEY TASKS
The idea behind this principle is simple... if you leave your important tasks, things which you need to finish today for tomorrow, it will start to create the habit of procrastination. - And that is never good. Especially for traders.
READ 25 PAGES OF A BOOK
Think about it like this... if you read just 25 pages everyday of a book, that is 750 pages a month, which results to 2-4 books... and that makes the biggest difference.
Knowledge is important, everything you ever wanted to learn has been written in a book, grow your knowledge and you will grow your value... and that will result in higher paying jobs, better trading results, more happiness, and more skills.
SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY
If your married then this is important... your kids and wife/husband need you more than the gifts you can get them... remember that kids don't remember their best day of television... memories are priceless and we create them.
Make sure you invest in quality time, no matter what problems you are facing in your life, nothing will change by you being sad or angry... but your family will appreciate you being with them 100%.
PLAN AND PREPARE TOMORROW
Tomorrow must start today, this is a task which takes less than 10 minutes and MUST be done every evening... it will give you the motivation to get out of bed early and start the day "running".
Meditation in today's day and age is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself... unplug for 5.. 10 mins or more if you can, but 5 to 10 mins is more than enough.
What I do is use "future pacing", I meditate and head into the future and see myself achieving my goals, being happy, healthy, wealthy... then I look into the past and see what I did to achieve these "goals"
WRITE DOWN AND REVIEW GOALS
This, just planning and preparing tomorrow, is a must. Doing this will increase your awareness of where you want to go and it is a breeding ground for motivation.
I write down and review my goals x2 times a day, once in the morning and once at night.
Thats it, this is how I end everyday of my life... and it has helped me in massive ways!
